News Story: According to NFL writer Peter King, Colts head coach Tony Dungy said that he will rest his starters as soon as his team can clinch home-field advantage in the AFC. "It's really kind of a no-brainer," said Dungy. "As soon as the games aren't meaningful in the standings, [resting starters to preserve them for the playoffs] is something we'll think about. They don't give out rings for being 16-0."

News Story: Peyton Manning threw for 245 yards on 15-of-25 passing with two TDs and one INT in Week 12 vs. Pittsburgh.
Source: SportsTicker Tuesday, November 29, 12:38 AM EST (Week 13)
News Story: The Associated Press reports the Indianapolis Colts beat the Pittsburgh Steelers Week 12 for the first time since 1984, going 0-7 against the Steelers since then. It was Colts QB Peyton Manning's first career win over the Steelers.

News Story: 15 of 25 for 245 yards, 2 TDs (80, 12) and 1 INT.
Fantasy Analysis: Manning finishes with modest numbers considering he hit Harrison for an 80 yard TD on the first play of the game.
Source: Fantasy Insights Monday, November 21, 12:22 AM EST (Week 11)
News Story: Peyton Manning piled up 365 yards on 24-of-40 passing with three TDs and one interception in Week 11 at Cincinnati.
Source: SportsTicker Sunday, November 20, 8:26 PM EST (Week 11)
News Story: Manning threw for a season-high 365 yards and tossed three touchdowns in Sunday's win at Cincinnati.

Source: RotoWire Sunday, November 20, 7:40 PM EST (Week 11)
News Story: 24 of 40 for 365, 3 TD, INT.
Fantasy Analysis: Probably exactly the kind of game everyone who took Peyton in the first round envisioned every week --- pretty damn impressive.
Source: Fantasy Insights Sunday, November 13, 11:51 PM EST (Week 10)
News Story: Manning was 26-of-35 for 297 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's win over Houston.
Fantasy Analysis: The Indy passing game is finally in high gear as Manning has had three touchdown passes for a second consecutive week.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, November 13, 9:32 PM EST (Week 10)
News Story: QB Peyton Manning recorded his seventh straight game of completing 70 percent or better of his passes. He completed 74 percent of his throws (26 of 35) against the Texans.
Source: Sports Xchange Sunday, November 13, 5:54 PM EST (Week 10)
News Story: Manning was 26 of 35 for 297 yds and 3 TDs in week 10.
Fantasy Analysis: Are fantasy owners concerned about Manning now? After 2 TDs in the first 3 weeks of 2005, Peyton has thrown 15 in the last 6 weeks. Yes, this game was against the soft Houston D, but Manning and the Colts are on a roll and fantasy owners should enjoy the ride.

News Story: Mike Chappell, of the Indianapolis Star, reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning had his best game against the New England Patriots in five years, passing for 321 yards and 3 TDs with a 117.1 QB rating in Week 9. Manning and the Colts won in New England for the first time in eight games.
Source: KFFL Tuesday, November 08, 8:35 AM EST (Week 10)
News Story: Manning was 28 of 37 for 321 yds, 3 TDs and 1 INT against New England on Monday night.
Fantasy Analysis: Exactly the game Manning owners were hoping for. After to relatively slow start, Manning now has 12 TDs in his last 5 games. He probably won't get to 40 TDs this season, but he will be plenty productive down the stretch. If you got frustrated with Manning and traded him a few weeks ago, shame on you.
Source: Fantasy Insights Tuesday, November 08, 1:12 AM EST (Week 10)
News Story: Manning was 28-of-37 for 321 yards and three touchdowns in Monday's win over New England. He threw an interception and also ran three times for 24 yards.
Fantasy Analysis: After deferring to the running game for most of the season, we knew Manning would finally have a breakout game. We just didn't figure it would come against his nemsis at Foxborough.
Source: RotoWire Tuesday, November 08, 12:40 AM EST (Week 10)
News Story: Peyton Manning completed 28-of-37 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Week 9 at New England.

News Story: QB Peyton Manning has a 2-8 career regular-season won-loss record against the Patriots. Both of Manning's wins over New England came at the RCA Dome: 20-15 on December 12, 1999 and 30-23 on October 22, 2000.
Source: Sports Xchange Tuesday, October 25, 6:13 PM EST (Week 8)
News Story: QB Peyton Manning has a league-leading 140.2 passer rating in the fourth quarter so far this year. Manning has completed 30 of 37 passes for 333 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. He has completed 81.1 percent of his passes in the fourth quarter.
Source: Sports Xchange Sunday, October 23, 9:42 PM EST (Week 7)
News Story: Manning was 21 of 27 but only threw for 237 yards. He had 2 TDs but added an INT and lost fumble.
Fantasy Analysis: If you still have hopes that Manning will come close to equaling his 2004 numbers, you need to get comfortable with the fact that he won't. He is still a slam dunk starter every week, but Edge is taking more TDs this year and the Indy D is keeping Manning from having to engage in shootouts.
Source: Fantasy Insights Sunday, October 23, 8:27 PM EST (Week 7)
News Story: Manning was 21-of-27 for 237 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's win over Houston. He did lose a fumble and throw an interception, however.
Fantasy Analysis: Not a great game for Manning, but at least the Indy passing game is becoming dependable once again even when it isn't at its best.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, October 23, 3:54 PM EST (Week 7)
News Story: Peyton Manning threw for 237 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 38-20 win over the Houston Texans.

I gave it back to him and he gave it to me. I said, 'Hey, let's just split it.' I don't know if you can cut a football in half, but we're going to try."
Source: Sports Xchange Tuesday, October 18, 7:16 AM EST (Week 7)
News Story: 191 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.
Fantasy Analysis: The Colts keep running the ball which is killing Manning's production. The problem is that they are winning and this will not change.
Source: Fantasy Insights Tuesday, October 18, 12:49 AM EST (Week 7)
News Story: Manning was 22-of-32 for 191 yards and two touchdowns in Monday's win over St. Louis.
Fantasy Analysis: The Colts primarily ran the ball as the Rams kept extra men in coverage, which limited Manning's passing yards. However, he threw two touchdowns at the goal line.
Source: RotoWire Tuesday, October 18, 12:23 AM EST (Week 7)
News Story: Peyton Manning completed 22-of-32 for 191 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Rams. His second score of the game in the fourth quarter was to Marvin Harrison, as the duo became the most prolific scoring pass-catch combo with 86 connections.

Source: KFFL Tuesday, October 11, 9:07 PM EST (Week 6)
News Story: QB Peyton Manning has completed 66 percent of his passes so far this season, just a notch below what he averaged for 16 regular season games a year ago. Manning completed 67 percent of his passes in 2004.
Source: Sports Xchange Monday, October 10, 12:07 AM EST (Week 5)
News Story: Manning was 23-of-31 for 255 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 28-3 win over San Francsico. He also threw two interceptions.
Fantasy Analysis: This wasn't the big game fantasy owners had hoped for against a depleted 49ers secondary as Manning was a bit off his game. Still, not a bad game for an off day.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, October 09, 8:18 PM EST (Week 5)
News Story: Peyton Manning completed 23-of-31 for 255 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in Week 5 at San Francisco.
Source: SportsTicker Sunday, October 09, 7:37 PM EST (Week 5)
News Story: Manning threw for 255 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's victory over San Francisco. He also tossed a pair of interceptions.
Fantasy Analysis: Manning was quiet for most of the day, but threw for 86 yards and a touchdown on the Colts' second to last possession of the game. Manning probably should have posted better numbers in this one with San Francisco starting two practice sqaud players in their secondary.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, October 09, 7:17 PM EST (Week 5)
News Story: Manning passed for 255 yards, 1 TD and 2 INT, while completing 23 of 31 passes against the 49ers on Sunday.
Fantasy Analysis: After a really nice week against the Titans last week, Fantasy owners were expecting more of the same against the 49ers. Not quite. This would be a great week from JP Losman. But from Manning its a letdown. Manning will not be the far and away best fantasy QB that many had planned on this year. He's gonna be your run-of-the-mill
Top 10 QB. Not bad, but not good enough for where you drafted him. Good, not great. The team doesn't need him to be. And Coach Dungy doesn't care about your fantasy stats.
Source: Fantasy Insights Saturday, October 08, 12:59 PM EST (Week 5)
News Story: Shannon Ryan, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens said he probably wouldn't have come to Philadelphia had he known some of the things he knows now. When asked if he could go back in time, would he still sign with Philadelphia, Owens said probably not. Owens responded, "Just going through some of the headaches I've had to go through. There were a lot of factors going into the decision. Had I known some of the things I know now…" When asked if he were a general manager, what quarterback would he build his team around, Owens responded with Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning.
Source: KFFL Thursday, October 06, 2:06 PM EST (Week 5)
News Story: The Colts' Peyton Manning finally returned to 2004 form with four TDs last week. He faces the 49ers, who have allowed opposing quarterbacks 362, 342, 363 and 385 yards this year. Which comes first for Manning on Sunday, 500 yards or six touchdowns?
Source: SportsTicker Sunday, October 02, 11:20 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: 20 of 27 for 264 yds and 4 TDs.
Fantasy Analysis: This is what everybody has been waiting for as Manning finally looked like the 2004 version. It was the Titans defense but maybe this kick starts the Colts offense into a higher gear.
Source: Fantasy Insights Sunday, October 02, 8:57 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: Manning threw for 264 yards and four touchdowns without a pick in Sunday's win over the Titans.
Fantasy Analysis: Manning, who completed 20-of-27 passes, finally busted out with the big game his frustrated owners have been waiting for.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, October 02, 3:23 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: Peyton Manning has thrown four touchdowns against the Titans in Week 4. Two have gone Marvin Harrison's way, while Reggie Wayne and Edgerrin James have one each.
Source: SportsTicker Sunday, October 02, 12:00 AM EST (Week 4)
News Story: After failing to throw a touchdown pass in the previous two games, Peyton Manning threw four TD passes in Week 4 against the Titans. Manning completed 20-of-27 passes for 264 yards.
Source: RotoTimes Wednesday, September 28, 10:15 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: Jarrett Bell, of the USAToday.com, reports of Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning's NFL-record 49 touchdown passes in 2004, 19 came against NFC North defenses, which included three of the four worst NFC teams for touchdown passes allowed. If you add in the seven TD passes against the Houston Texans, more than half of Manning's TD passes last year came against five teams. He hasn't played Houston yet this season and no NFC North teams are on the Colts' schedule.
Source: KFFL Wednesday, September 28, 10:01 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning will make his 116th consecutive start Sunday, Oct. 2, which will set a franchise record and tie former QB Ron Jaworski for the second longest consecutive starts streak.
Source: KFFL Tuesday, September 27, 10:10 PM EST (Week 4)
News Story: QB Peyton Manning has not thrown a touchdown pass in his last nine quarters. Manning's last two TD passes came in the season-opener at Baltimore with throws to WR Marvin Harrison and TE Ben Utecht.
Source: Sports Xchange Monday, September 26, 3:16 AM EST (Week 3)
News Story: Manning was 19-of-23 for 228 yards and an interception in Sunday's win over Cleveland. He didn't throw a touchdown pass for a second consecutive week.
Fantasy Analysis: The Colts settled for two field goals in the red zone, but mostly ran the ball to control the clock. The Colts have been happy to beat teams by running the ball as opposing defenses focus on the passing game, so Manning's stats have suffered. That trend may continue, but Manning should break out with a big game at some point.
Source: RotoWire Sunday, September 25, 9:29 PM EST (Week 3)
News Story: QB Peyton Manning became the second-fastest NFL quarterback to pass the 30,000-yard passing mark. The Colts quarterback now has 30,046 yards in 115 career games. Former Miami signal caller Dan Marino did it in 114 games.
Source: Sports Xchange Sunday, September 25, 8:15 PM EST (Week 3)
News Story: Manning completed 19 of 23 passes for 228 yards and 1 INT on Sunday against the Browns.
Fantasy Analysis: The best pure passer in the NFL is in danger of sliding out of starting consideration on your Fantasy team. The reason why, is that the Colts have a great running game, and a suddenly very stingy defense. He's thrown for only 2 TD's this year. The question is, does he pick it up and when. The answer isn't easy. He should pick it up, and obviously he can. But the Colts don't face many offensive juggernauts this year. They face the Rams in a few weeks, and that should get this offense sparked, but otherwise, this is a trend. Manning will rebound. But DO NOT expect a run at 30 TD's this year. He's gonna be a HUGE disappointment to owners that used a 1st round draft pick to get him this year. Between him and Culpepper, I doubt we'll see many 1st round QB fantasy picks next year
Source: Fantasy Insights Sunday, September 25, 4:04 PM EST (Week 3)
News Story: The Associated Press reports Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning became the second fastest quarterback ever to reach 30,000 career passing yards. Manning needed 115 games to reach 30,000, with the record held by former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino who did it in 114 games.
Source: KFFL Sunday, September 25, 3:42 PM EST (Week 3)
News Story: Colts QB Peyton Manning was 19 of 23 for 228 yards and an interception. However, he threw zero touchdowns, the first time since 1999 Manning has played back-to-back home games without a touchdown pass.
Source: SportsTicker Thursday, September 22, 11:55 PM EST (Week 3)
News Story: Marla Ridenour, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel had a history of past success against Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning, the team's Week 3 opponent, when he was defensive coordinator with the New England Patriots. In the past four years as defensive coordinator of the Patriots, Crennel has compiled a 6-0 record against the Colts in the regular season and playoffs. In those games, Manning has thrown for nine touchdowns and 10 interceptions. When the subject came up, Crennel immediately tried to downplay the good old days. "There's been some discussion about the success against the Colts I've had in the past," Crennel said. "I looked at the tape and didn't see me playing one snap in any one of those games. I can't make any plays, I can't cover anybody and I can't tackle anybody." Some of the Browns' players feel their head coach's record against Manning might give them an edge.
